Roadworks under way on a section of Voortrekker Road in Kraaifontein

The City’s Urban Mobility Directorate has started essential road resurfacing work along Voortrekker Road, between Eoan Way and Maroela Road in Kraaifontein. To minimise disruption, work will be carried out at night from 19:00 to 05:30, Sunday through Friday, and is expected to continue until Thursday, 30 June 2026, weather permitting.

‘I would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding while these road infrastructure improvements are under way. This work will help improve road conditions, keep Cape Town moving and ensure safer smooth travel for everyone. Residents may experience some noise during construction hours while our teams mill and replace the existing road surface. There will also be some daytime work, mainly on the sidewalks, where our teams will be repairing kerbs and channels,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Rob Quintas.
Motorists and residents are advised to plan their routes accordingly and to follow traffic signage as well as exercise caution around the construction area and to adhere to all temporary road signage.
